September Sponsor Spotlight

Today I'd like to introduce you to some of my lovely September sponsors. STop on by and say hi to them, you'll be glad you did.

Hello! I'm Ameryn and I blog over at oh so nifty. I am a {currently unemployed} interior designer {more time to blog, right?}, maker of awesome things, transitioning beach bum, and wife to my very handsome husband! You'll find just about anything over in my little corner of the interweb, because I pretty much share whatever is on my mind. Whether it's about food, fashion, home decor or just ridiculously cute pictures of my pets! I recently just picked up and moved 6 hours from 'home' and am now trying to figure out what to do with this fresh start! Today I'm playing housewife, tomorrow I could be starting a new business... we'll see what happens! You should come by and follow along on my adventure, it'll be fun.

Hi, I'm Jessica and I blog over at Home with Baxter. I live in Massachusetts with my husband, Jake, and our dog, Baxter.  Almost a year ago, I quit my job in financial services to find out what it is that I truly LOVE to do.  We recently purchased our first home and I quickly realized that I have a passion for interior design.  I'm redecorating our house by day, taking decorating classes at night, and sharing my progress, tips, and tricks on my blog.  And sometimes I shamelessly share adorable pictures of Baxter...cause I can. :)

Hi! I’m Kristen and I guess you could say I’m a lifestyle blogger. Blogging is such a fun world to be a part of and I’m thankful for it every day. I love nail polish, lip gloss, diet coke, baubles, military man, my furbabies, and shopping….So these things are what I blog about. I love to get to know my followers so feel free to email me at any time and comment galore! XOXO.

I'm Baylee! I consider my blog a lifestyle blog, with emphasis on love, fur babies, photography and poetry.

Vegetarian Vs. Vegan and Giveaway Winner

I just want to start this post off by saying I'm not writing this to try and tell you or convince you to go vegetarian or vegan. I writing to ask those of you who are vegan or who have tried it for some info and insight. That being said, I recently was send a video that really got me thinking. I am currently a vegetarian so that means I don't eat meat but I do eat dairy products. I made the decision to go vegetarian about 7 years ago when I was doing some reading/research on natural foods and just diet in general. I came across some pretty disturbing things (which I won't mention, don't worry) and since then I have been completely turned of meat. This video I was telling you about has really gotten to me and I can't seem to shake it. I called up a friend of mine, who is vegan, and asked her if she could suggest any good books or sites on the topic. She suggested a few that she had and offed to lend them, so I am currently reading up on the subject but I want a little more. I am having a hard time with this decision because it's a little over whelming. It's not as simple as "I'm going to be a vegetarian so I'm not going to eat meat" there are dairy products in everything and there is so much more to learn. I realize there are replacements for almost every it's just the first little bit of figuring things out that looks like it will be the really tough part. So If any of my readers are vegan or have tried it out and can offer any good advise, books, or sites on the topic I'd love to hear from you.

Now the winner or the 200 followers giveaway is Karen Finck!! Congratulations Karen! Raspberry Mint Lemonade

On the weekend I was trying to come up with a nice drink I could sit out back and sip on. I came up with this raspberry mint lemonade. A restaurant I use to work at made a drink called freckled lemonade and what it was, was lemonade with real strawberry topping in it. Have any of you ever had it? They are so good so I tried to make something like it with raspberries (and alcohol of course) and I add some mint to freshen it up. It turned out really well so I wanted to share it with you all.

What you'll need:
   - 1oz Raspberry Vodka
   - A handful of frozen raspberries
   - Lemonade, to taste
   - Fresh mint leaves, to taste
   - Ice

Poor ingredients in a glass over ice and enjoy!

Pumpkin Spice Latte

I found this recipe last winter and have been in love with making my own pumpkin spice lattes ever since. This is a perfect warm fall drink. Beware you might become addicted.

  What you'll need:

1 cup milk (I used soy milk, you can used almond or rice milk if you wish)
1/4 cup pumpkin puree (not pumpkin pie filling)
2 tsp pumpkin spice blend, or to taste
1 tsp cinnamon, or to taste
      1 tsp vanilla extract

  Directions:

  - Brew a pot of coffee however you like it. (Stronger coffee is better for a latte as there's a lot of milk add to it)
  - Combined all ingredients in a small bowl (I used a small mason jar and attached the bottom of my blender to it and blended it)
  - Warm ingredients, either by frothing (if you have a frothier) or just put it in the microwave for approx. 1 minute. It should get a little frothy on the top once warmed.
  - Get yourself a mug and half fill it with your coffee and the other half with your frothy pumpkin spice milk mixture, or to taste
  - Sweeten to taste.

Voila! There you have it homemade pumpkin spice latte!

*I accidentally bought pumpkin pie filling instead of actual pumpkin :s I didn't notice until I opened it and realized it didn't smell how it usually does. I used it anyway and it still turned out pretty good, I would recommend the actual pumpkin over the pie filling though

Wishing everyone a good stress free first day back to school.
Happy Tuesday!!

Life Lately

I'm linking up with Alli from Life on Leroy today. I haven't done a "Lately in Photos" post in a while so I feel due for one.

Waylon aka Mr. Tail, every time he lays on his side his tongue falls out the side of his mouth and I think it's the best.

Reese being lazy on the couch, as usual

I finally caved and started reading Fifty Shades of Grey. I have to admit it's pretty good. My cousin bought the whole set so I borrowed them :)

Love it when my boyfriend gets rid of old jeans, I now have 2 new pairs of jean shorts :) Thank You!!

Oh my, homemade pumpkin spice latte. These are so good!! I'll be posting the recipe for these soon.

Patio beers! My favourite. This was apart of our fun day Thursday.

GOATS!! Also apart of our Thursday, our trip to the Zoo. I want to go back already.

I hope you're all having a good Labour Day weekend and looking forward to back to school, for those of you that are going.
Happy Monday!!
